Researched 2026-08-16 Sources in 3 languages Adults only 16+ Rooms 371

The verdict in one breathA genuinely good cove-and-snorkel hotel for couples and adult groups: strong food, warm staff, a beautiful private-feeling bay. Go in knowing the all-inclusive small print, the sunbed rhythm, and that Cala d'Or town is a taxi away.

The ten facts

Not on the booking page. Every one cited, dated, or guest-verified.

01
strength

The cove is the reason to book: Cala Egos directly in front, clear water, genuinely good snorkelling, and rock platforms so you can slip into the sea without touching sand. A September 2025 guest called it "mega: private, clear, perfect snorkelling."

02
strength

The buffet earns its reputation for variety, with coeliac and allergy handling specifically praised, and four rotating a la carte restaurants on top. Staff warmth is the most consistent theme across all three languages.

03
strength

Rooms are modern and spacious with kettles, rain showers and balconies, and the air conditioning gets praised rather than complained about, which is rarer than it should be.

04
warning

Jellyfish visit Cala Egos periodically. Spanish reviewers warn the cove "frequently gets jellyfish", so glance at the water each morning, especially in September.

05
warning

All-inclusive is not all-in: included spirits are budget brands, name brands cost extra, bottled water is an "Extra Service" (included water comes in glasses), and Bali beds carry a premium fee.

06
warning

The sunbed race starts around 8am for a pool that opens at 10, and the main pool loses direct sun outside roughly 11am-4pm and closes at 6pm. The garden and second-pool zones are the workaround.

07
warning

The lifts are tired and don't always behave, and guests report salty tap and shower water. Small things, but nobody's booking page mentions either.

08
tip

Cala d'Or town is a taxi, not a stroll: guest walking reports run 20 to 50 minutes, or 5 minutes and about 5 euros by cab. Free parking nearby makes a hire-car day easy.

09
tip

Book the a la carte restaurants on day one before the week's slots go, and wear swim shoes off the rocks: a scorpion fish has been spotted.

10
surprise

It's two separate buildings with a real room lottery: one guest who paid for "Sea View & Side Pool" got a first-floor corner block room. Confirm block, floor and aspect at check-in, politely and immediately.

What the hotel sells

Paid tiers and upgrades, and whether they're worth it here.

My Favorite Club

Reported around £200 extra per week, confirm current price

  • Personalised check-in/out
  • Club Lounge with snacks and drinks
  • Reserved indoor and outdoor areas
  • One of the three pools is Club-exclusive
  • Selection of the best rooms

Worth it? Insufficient Club-guest evidence for a firm call. The logic in its favour at this hotel: it likely neutralises the sunbed race and the room lottery in one purchase, roughly £15-30 a night to not set an alarm on holiday. Guest verdicts wanted.

The contested questions

Where guests disagree, and the fact that reconciles them.

Sunbeds

"Plenty of beds, no need to rush."
"8am stampede, barriers skipped."

Our read: Multiple distinct zones (main pool, second pool, garden solarium, hireable beds, beach). The fight is for prime main-pool spots; a bed somewhere is near-guaranteed. Hotel says lifeguards tag and remove unattended towels after an hour, guest evidence says enforcement loses.

The surroundings

British guests: "lovely little place, just enough going on."
German guests: "dreary, trinket shops and uninviting bars."

Our read: Expectation calibration, not a fact conflict. It's a small satellite cove, charming if you expect a cove, disappointing if you expect Cala d'Or.

Food

Buffet variety widely praised in English and German reviews; coeliac handling specifically commended.
Spanish reviews harsher on quality and on the all-inclusive drink brands.

Our read: A late-September Spanish half-board guest called it "above average, very good quality-price", the AI drinks tier is the weak point, not the kitchen.
