How dossiers are researched
Each dossier synthesises guest reviews and public sources in English, German and Spanish, plus open map and listings data. Every factual claim carries a source and a date, or is explicitly marked unknown. We never state a fact we cannot cite. Statements of opinion are framed as opinion, resting on the facts shown beside them.
Hotel marketing is quarantined
Claims made by hotel management, in review responses or marketing, are labelled "hotel says" and never blended with guest evidence.
Images
Photos are our own or licensed (including via our booking-affiliate partnerships). We never lift photos from guest reviews. Until a page has photos, it carries our illustrated cove artwork.
Report an inaccuracy
If something on this site is demonstrably wrong, tell us at corrections@thehotelfiles.co.uk. Verified factual errors are corrected within 7 days and logged. Fair opinion and accurately cited guest experiences are not removed on request.
How we make money
Booking links are affiliate links. We earn the same commission whichever hotel you book, so we have no incentive to flatter any of them. Hotels cannot pay for placement, ranking, or removal.
